The second album for the latest metal-epica-goth band, The Dark Mess is a definite product of front man Jahn Torlick's inner turmoil and vision. The album 'Lost Faith'

Interview with Jahn Torlick.


Marksian Magazine - " Jahn, Lost Faith is a real treat to listen to. It has a real dark sound to it, yet it also seems to be very energetic. You said in a previous interview that you felt as though your soul had bled out after writing most of its songs."

Jahn Torlick - "Yes. I gave flakes of my essence to make this album. It was the deal that needed to be made."

Marksian Magazine - "I notice that this album has a lot of religion to it. It has drawn some comdemnation as well as praise from various circles. Would you say its anti or for religion."

Jahn Torlick - "That is between the Godess and I."

Marksian Magazine - "You seem to have a hectic tour date promoting this album. It is also rumoured that you will be in the sequel to "Leachator", how do you find the time and energy to maintain such a hectic schedule."

Jahn Torlick - "How does a dog find it in itself to lick its own penis? Or an eagle find the ability to fly? I am the maggot that becomes a fly and fights freedom after devouring the dead of society."

Marksian Magazine - "Understood. So the music brings out your darker nature?"

Jahn Torlick - "Nothing in nature is dark. Except for the absence of light. Then its dark. I am simply a by product of darkness. I am the absense of the good in this world, yet I am not evil. I am by nature dark, but only because when the Sun is up I am hybernating within my self. When the sun and light erodes away and it become night, I am hunting on the prowl, creating and living. "

Marksian Magazine - "The UK's 'Pulp' showed photos of you and drummer Ghent Karne leaving a rehab centre, would you care to clarify on that."

Jahn Torlick - "It was not for rehab but simply for a temporary cleansing of the veins. Even the busiest freeway needs to be shut down and cleaned, before you let the cars back on it."
